Advised on the acquisition and financing of Holcim’s divested cement businesses across Mauritius, Réunion, Madagascar, Mayotte, the Seychelles and Comoros, before becoming Group CEO on completion and leading the integration of the businesses.
The context
Taylor Smith, a Mauritius-based investment group with limited experience in cement and building materials, required sector, transaction and operational expertise to evaluate, finance and acquire Holcim’s vertically integrated Indian Ocean platform and, following completion, operate the business across six territories.
Our role
Transaction and financial adviser throughout the acquisition, due diligence and financing process; appointed Group CEO on completion to lead integration and operational development.
The outcome
Successfully acquired the platform on attractive terms and rapidly integrated the businesses across six territories, delivering improvements in operations, logistics and procurement while establishing a coherent regional operating model.
