Debt and Equity Raising for a Greenfield Integrated Cement Plant
Corporate Finance · Africa
Advised a confidential investor on raising US$200 million of debt and equity financing for the development of a greenfield integrated cement plant in a higher-risk African market.
The context
The client required a credible and bankable funding strategy for a major greenfield investment in a challenging jurisdiction. The financing structure needed to address the project’s development, execution and country risks while presenting a compelling proposition to prospective debt and equity providers.
Our role
Financial Adviser, supporting the development of the financing strategy, investment proposition and engagement with potential debt and equity providers.
The outcome
The engagement supported the client’s financing strategy and investment proposition. The associated grinding plant was subsequently commissioned; the integrated plant financing and development remain separate from that completed phase.
